Directions

Smoky BBQ ground beef layered with buttery rice, melty cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and burger-style toppings for the ultimate comfort-food bowl. Rich, cheesy, savory, and incredibly satisfying.

  1. 1.Prepare the rice:
  2. 2.Cook rice according to package directions. While still warm, stir in butter, garlic powder, and salt. Set aside covered so it stays soft and slightly sticky.
  3. 3.Cook the bacon:
  4. 4.Cook bacon in a skillet until deeply crisp. Transfer to paper towels and chop into small pieces. Reserve about 1 tablespoon of bacon fat in the pan.
  5. 5.Build the beef mixture:
  6. 6.Add diced onion to the skillet and cook over medium heat for 4–5 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  7. 7.Add ground beef and break apart while cooking. Season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Continue cooking until browned and slightly caramelized.
  8. 8.Create the BBQ sauce base:
  9. 9.Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in BBQ sauce, ketchup, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 3–4 minutes until thick, glossy, and rich.
  10. 10.Prepare the burger sauce:
  11. 11.In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, BBQ sauce, mustard, and pickle relish until smooth.
  12. 12.Layer the bowls:
  13. 13.For the stacked look, lightly grease a small bowl or ramekin. Add a layer of rice, followed by cheddar cheese, BBQ beef, more cheese, and another layer of rice. Press gently to compact.
  14. 14.Plate and melt:
  15. 15.Invert onto a serving plate and carefully lift the mold away. Top with more cheddar cheese and place under the broiler for 1–2 minutes until melted and bubbling.
  16. 16.Finish the dish:
  17. 17.Top with crispy bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and chopped chives. Drizzle generously with burger sauce.
  18. 18.Serve:
  19. 19.Serve hot while the cheese is melted and the bacon stays crispy. Optional extra BBQ drizzle for presentation.
